Book Club: El Conde de Monte Fuji

El Conde de Monte Fuji is a book club focused exclusively on Mexican and Japanese authors, in collaboration with Mekishico (mekishico.com). Each session we explore the work of a different author, guided by passionate readers who share context, analysis and conversation.

In this session we're reading Ciudades Desiertas by José Agustín, a novel that follows a Mexican couple in a writers' program in the United States. With sharp humor and a critical eye, José Agustín explores cultural clash, the loneliness of the foreigner and the tensions of a relationship in crisis. Maestro Miguel Marentes (@miguel_marentes) guides the conversation.
